Most of us spend our lives feeling small — like a minor character in a story being written by forces much larger than ourselves. But what if the opposite is true? What if you are not peripheral to the universe, but central to it? Here is a meditation that can shift your entire sense of who you are.
A Practice of Infinite Perspective
Look as far as you can see — then imagine what is past your vision. Look up and picture what extends beyond the sky, beyond the blue that comes from the sun reflecting off the oceans. Picture the endless reach of space above you. Now look left, as far as you can see — and imagine how much farther it goes. Now right. Now down through the earth to the other side. Now behind you.
You have just surveyed the entire universe in every direction — and you are standing at its center. Every direction of the cosmos extends outward from where you are standing right now. That is not a metaphor. That is literally true for every conscious being at every moment. You are the center of your universe, and everything extends from you.
One with It All
Now ask: who are you? You are not a small, isolated creature barely surviving in an indifferent cosmos. You are the point from which all of it radiates. You are ONE with all of it — because all of it extends from you. That oneness is not a spiritual aspiration to work toward. It is the truth of what you already are, right now, in this moment.
When you feel small, forgotten, or disconnected — return to this practice. Expand your awareness in all directions. Remember that the same Power that holds the stars in place is the Power working in your life. You are not separate from that Power. You are an expression of it. And that expression matters.
Your Sacred Identity
Claiming your sacred identity does not mean becoming arrogant. It means recognizing your actual place in the order of things — not below everything, not above everything, but at the very center of your own lived experience, connected to all of it. That recognition changes how you carry yourself, how you treat others, and how you receive the difficulties that come.
The God in you and the God in everyone you meet are the same. When you see yourself clearly — as a conscious, creative, connected being at the center of an infinite universe — you will find it much harder to remain small, afraid, or diminished. That is the power of knowing who you really are.
- You are literally at the center of your universe — every direction of infinite space extends outward from where you stand.
- Oneness with the universe is not something to achieve — it is the truth of what you already are.
- When you feel small, expand your awareness: return to the practice of infinite perspective in all directions.
- Claiming your sacred identity is not arrogance — it is accurate recognition of your actual place in the order of things.
- The same Power that holds the cosmos in place is working in your life — you are an expression of it, not separate from it.
